Q Menu

The Q menu is divided into several sections. Hold down Q or left-click the player to open this menu.

The left column is divided into 3 sections. The top bar tells the player's level and current experience. The player's level will increase as the player gains more experience. Killing monsters, reading books, and identifying items are just some of the ways you can gain more experience.

The section beneath that shows the character's attributes. Move the mouse over an attribute icon to see the name of that attribute. Note that as your weight increases, your speed decreases. Don't carry too much stuff!

Third, we have the Skill/Experience section. Your character has six skill areas in which he or she may level up. The number on the left represents your level in that skill area, and the number on the right represents your current experience in that level. Individual skill areas follow the same rules as overall character level when leveling up. See "Experience" for more information.

The bottom section on the left side is the Resistances area. This lists your resistance to various kinds of attacks and spells. Move the mouse over each icon to see what it represents.

The top-right side of the Q menu is divided into 2 sections. The equipment section shows what items you have equipped, and what part of the body they are equipped to. The right-most section displays the name and statistics of the currently selected item.

The bottom-right section is your inventory. On the left side you see the main portion of your inventory. Here you may select, drag, wield, or apply your items.

On the right side you see the special inventory area. This is where you may view and manipulate the contents of containers such as the cauldron or sack.

To drop an item, drag it from the inventory to the ground outside of the Q menu.

Currently cannot drop items properly on the outside of ships.

Stat Bars

On the upper-right corner of the screen you see a graphic with four stat bars. These represent, from top to bottom:

Health Bar (HP)

Displays Current Health / Maximum Health

How much life you have left. When you hit 0, you die (Bad, bad idea!). Slowly refills over time. Leveling up in overall character level will increase your maximum HP.

Spell Points (SP)

Displays Current Spell Points / Maximum Spell Points

How many spell points (also known as mana) you have left. Slowly refills over time. Leveling up in Magic will increase your maximum SP.

Grace

Displays Current Grace / Maximum Grace

How much grace you have. You can refill grace by praying to your god. You need to have learned Piety before you are able to pray.

Food

Displays Food Level (up to 999 food)

How much food you have eaten. Slowly drains. You must eat food or other edible items to refill. When it reaches zero, you start eating random items from your inventory. When you have nothing left to eat, you die (Bad, bad idea).

Quick-Launch Menu

Below the stat bars, there are three buttons. Clicking on one of these buttons will open up its quick menu. On each menu you see a list of the skills, weapons, or spells that you have. You may double-click or middle-click on any icon to use/wield that skill/weapon/spell. You may also drag a spell icon to an object to use the spell on that object (if supported).

Hotkeys

Highlight an icon on any menu, then click the blank space to the right of it. Press a number key, W, E, R, T, or C to assign that key to the icon. Then, pressing that key is the same as double-clicking the icon on the quick menu.

Experience

The player begins at level 1. Level 2 requires 2000 experience, level 3 requires 4000, and so on, with the necessary experience doubling each time (2000, 4000, 8000, etc).

If you are killed by monsters or by another player (outside of a spar arena), you will lose a certain amount of experience. If you lose enough experience, you may also drop to a lower character level.

Advanced Movement and Transportation

Walking

Walking is influenced by the character's weight and the terrain. The more weight you have in your inventory, the slower you walk. You also walk slowly going uphill.

Swimming

Swimming involves walking into the water, then pressing S to stroke while steering with arrow keys.

Ships

Ships are the only way to visit the kingdom islands! You may board a ship at a dock, from another ship, or if no one is on board you may swim onto the ship. Walk to the captain's wheel and press A to take the controls. Hold S to accelerate the ship while steering with the arrow keys. Press A to leave the wheel. The person steering can say "setname shipname" where shipname is what he wants to name the ship!

You may also touch the mast and press A to climb to the crow's nest. While up here you can use the arrow keys to look around. Press A to get down.

Touch a cannon and press A to fire an exploding cannonball.

Ships may be damaged in fights or wear out over time. If you're carrying boards, walk to a wall of the ship and press A to repair it.

Kingdoms

You may see players with kingdom ranks and tags. The five kingdoms are:

  1. Forest
  2. Pirates (aka Crescent Pirates)
  3. Zormite
  4. Dustari
  5. Samurai (aka Bakugun)

To join a kingdom you have to ask the kingdom leader. PM a kingdom member to find out who that is.

To travel to the kingdom isles, get on a ship and go to the edges of the mainmap (the island with monsters on it). On the minimap, you see icons:

  • Tree - Forest
  • Fish - Zormite
  • Sword - Dustari
  • Skull/crossbones - Pirate
  • Samurai hat - Samurai

Leave the map near these icons to travel to that kingdom's isles. From time to time you might hit the wrong spot and travel to a different kingdom. You can travel from one kingdom to another the same way. On the kingdom isle maps, a gold cup points the way back to the mainmap.

Items and Food

Items are usually pretty simple. Once you have one equipped (double-click to equip), press S to use it.

Food is a little different. To eat food, simply double-click it. You may eat bread, food (looks like meat), onions, potatoes, water, and many other things. Not all items are edible, and not all edible items are healthy!

Double-click containers to activate, open, or close them. A container that is opened will show an icon at the top of the "container" section of the Q menu. Use this on mailboxes, too.

To get more information on an item, right-click it. On the bottom-right of your screen you will see an item description, often including:

  • Item name
  • Effect of using the item (such as how much food it gives you)
  • What the item is made of
  • Weight
  • Sell Price
  • and other attributes.

Some items, like certain weapons, may be used in different ways. Use combinations of S, arrow keys, and D to discover other ways of using the item.

Commands

Commands must be typed into the chat bar with a / in front of them.

Type /help commands to discover many common commands.

Type /help (command) to find out information on a specific command.

The /save command is good for immediately backing up your progress, to make sure you don't lose items if the server messes up or you disconnect from Graal. Similar to /save is the automatic function of beds, docks, and dungeon doors: when you enter a bed or a dungeon, or walk to the end of a dock, your restart position is saved (which means if you die, you start there instead of having to restart your character!).

Fun Stuff

  • Use the shovel to dig on beaches, you might find a metris game. Equip it and press S to play. Use arrow keys to steer the bones, use S to rotate them. Press A to quit.
  • Touch a palm tree and press A to climb to the top. You can look around as though you were on top of a ship's mast!
  • Touch an upright, open, empty barrel and press A to climb inside and close it behind you! Press A to get out again.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get ... seed?

Craft a shovel and dig.

How do I plant corn?

Place the corn seed on the ground and double-click it. Be sure to water it every time it shows the water symbol.

How do I plant trees?

Place the tree seed on grass and double-click it. No water necessary.

How do I get more spell points?

Use a spell to kill lots of creatures until you level up in Magic.

The anvil just ate my hot iron!

When you touch the anvil, press S instead of A.

Why can't I craft on a black anvil?

See above.

Where do I get bomy skins?

Kill bomies. Lots of bomies. The regular or evil ones.

Will somebody give me food?

NO. Food is something we all need (unless we worship Bile) and never get enough of. Ask individuals near you very nicely and you may get lucky, but please, don't PM. It's annoying. It helps if you're willing to pay/trade. If nothing else, go play with a water can for about 10 minutes or so and refill your foodbar by drinking a lot.
