Thank you for deciding to try contributing to the GraalWiki! This page will give you a brief introduction to the special formatting options which are available when you write an article, as well as some of the rules and conventions of wiki writing.

The first thing to rememember is that the wiki is for information. It is not for opinion, flame wars, arguments or disputes; it is designed to be an encyclopaedia-like reference for the world of Graal. As such, try to maintain a neutral point of view (NPOV) when writing about your chosen topic. For instance, adding a "This playerworld sucks and you should never visit it" notice to an article would be considered unacceptable; however, additions like "In recent months, Fictionia players have grown concerned with the activities of certain staff members: for more information, see Allegations of Fictionia staff abuse" are welcomed.

Two biased articles, one for each side of an argument, does not constitute NPOV. Well-written articles should address both sides of a controversy, but not give unfair credence to one or the other.

The table below shows wiki markup - that is, the special instructions you can embed in your articles to insert links, lists, pictures and so on. Please note that full HTML is not supported - only a few HTML tags are permitted by the MediaWiki software.
